Two Tarts outtakes

October 6, 2011

Dulcie and I were invited to be contributors to, a new foodie site.  They asked for a profile picture of the two of us, which we didn’t have on hand.  So we had a photo shoot to create one.

We were barely able to hold it together to create a decent picture of ourselves.  Our forte is food photography, it turns out, not self portrait photography.

Dulcie just loves to be on camera, as you can see:

We felt really silly posing for the self-timed camera and were basically dying laughing in a very unphotogenic way for the entire morning.

Trying to be serious…while toddlers put shoes on the table, etc.

Then the toddlers stole our props, and walked around munching on the pears we’d been wanting to use in the photo!

Wow, this pose is incredibly awkward.  As you can see, Dulcie just can’t handle the mood I’m attempting to create in this photo!

Trying to get centered and calm…well, at least one of us is.

Next we tried a technique where we were imagining that we were sipping our drinks, chatting casually, and then we looked up and:  Oh! Hey youuuu!  Well I just didn’t notice you sneaking up with a camera to capture this adorable moment!

That did not work at all.  We are so incredibly awkward.  Fake cocktails were sipped hideously…

We finally ended up with this one.  Both laughing at ourselves, but in a (we hope) less staged and more fun-looking way.

I laughed during the entire reviewing of your pictures! I had fun just imagining the hilarity. The shoes on the table, the pears disappearing. Life can be so funny with toddlers. Your resulting picture is adorable. You look like you are enjoying your conversation as you sip your cocktails! Mission accomplished, with happy memories.

I ditto everything that Momma Jen said, I was doubled over laughing at the hilarity of the whole photo shoot…the shoe on the table was funny and then eating the props about did me in, you 2 are very cute.
