March Dinner Party

March 7, 2011

Our monthly dinner party happened this weekend at Dulcie’s house.  This is a monthly tradition that has been working out so well, and has been so much fun.  Here’s how it works:

First we pick out a menu that looks good. We try to stick with food that’s appropriate to the season and has some sort of theme, but mainly we care about eating things that sounds good and exciting and that we haven’t tried before.   Oh and we’ve been picking a complimentary cocktail to accompany the meal, too.  We started doing this to use my new juicer and have kept it going for a few months running now.

Then we split up the menu – I make half and Dulcie makes half.   The dinner party starts at 430 on a Saturday.  This glamorous hour has been chosen thanks to the toddlers; they start loosing it at about 630 so we have to start very early if we want to enjoy our dinner.

We start off with the babies at the table with us, we let them try our menu, but usually about 15 minutes into dinner they get down and run around with us while we hang out at the table eating and chatting.  It is so fun!

We wrote about our March dinner party menu over at Two Tarts if you are interested.
