Something exciting happened yesterday – Isaac finally said “mama”!  I was in the kitchen while Jamie, James, John, Kate, and Jess were in the living room.  He was crying for me to come back into the living room, Jamie asked him if he wanted to see his Mama, and then he said “mama”!  Everyone cheered and he couldn’t believe the reaction he got.  Then I came back in the room and he said it again, so I got to hear it too.  So cute!

young cowboy that can say "mama"

Later on in the evening he said Barbie, twice.  He is obsessed with chasing her and has just recently learned that he can cause her to jump off her perch on the back of the couch and run around if he throws things at her.  Poor Barbie!  At least she can escape by jumping over the baby gate and lurking on the staircase.

In celebration of the word mama, I will now recap all of Isaac’s vocabulary in chronological order:

  1. Dada
  2. Panting like a dog
  3. Kitty
  4. Dog
  5. Car
  6. Meow (but sounds like a breathy “hhhhhhow”)
  7. Mama
  8. Barbie
  9. Ball, Book, Good, and Truck, but sporadically and weirdly so I’m not sure on these.
