Baby Backpack Pillow

June 30, 2010

For our hike this weekend I made a first attempt  at creating a baby pillow for Isaac to sleep on during our hikes.   I made a long narrow pillow and sewed it to the front of the backpack – right in front of Isaac’s face.

I thought it would be long enough that he could just let his head fall in a forward direction onto the soft pillow, which would absorb the jostling of hiking.  He could sleep and be happy!

This did not work out as I had anticipated.  First of all, the pillow sat up so high that it blocked his view.  The giant sunhat didn’t help matters either…

He did try to fall asleep, but he didn’t let his head fall forward onto the pillow. He kept hanging it out the sides of the backpack.  I am going to have to go back to the drawing board on this one…
