Creamy Carrot Orange Smoothie

May 22, 2010

I have a bunch of carrot juice hanging around in my fridge (leftover from the soup) so I invented a delicious new smoothie.

Creamy Carrot Orange Smoothie:

Boulder 004

Isaac liked it too – he drank some from his sippy cup!  Here’s the recipe:

  • 1 cup carrot juice
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup ice

Blend till smooth.  This smoothie is sweet, but not too sweet.  And creamy (from the banana) but not too creamy.  And it is nice and icy cold from the ice – perfect for the 80 degree day we’re going to have in Boulder today!

Isaac is taking a nap right now and when he wakes up we’re planning to drive  up to the Rocky Mountain National Park for a visit.  It is only an hour away – awesome.

I use a similar recipe to this one, but sometimes use frozen vanilla yogurt instead of the banana 🙂 its for when I am craving a little more sweetness!
